Description
Sum all recorded kilometers, sum included legs, and multiply includedKm by the factor.
Cross-source records often use different labels, time spans, and support conventions. Exact equality and overlap checks describe the supplied metadata; they do not prove that sources measure the same social or geographic concept.
Sum all recorded kilometers, sum included legs, and multiply includedKm by the factor.
When to use this tool
Use Global Mobility Travel Distance Term when you need a literal source comparison or coverage diagnostic.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter legsKm, excludedLegs, detourFactor. Keep parallel arrays aligned. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read recordedKm, includedKm, adjustedIncludedKm. Use the output convention below.
Require aligned nonnegative legsKm and excludedLegs and positive detourFactor. Sum all recorded kilometers, sum included legs, and multiply includedKm by the factor.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| legsKm | Legs Km | Required. Array of finite number; maximum items 256. |
| excludedLegs | Excluded Legs | Required. Array of boolean; maximum items 256. |
| detourFactor | Detour Factor | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| recordedKm | Recorded Km | Required. Finite number. |
| includedKm | Included Km | Required. Finite number. |
| adjustedIncludedKm | Adjusted Included Km | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- The factor can be below one and is supplied rather than derived from routes; no actual travel, geodesic distance, route accessibility, or mode-specific emissions are inferred.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Inspect the original source definitions and collection methods. Harmonize conceptual scope and timing before treating matching labels or overlapping records as comparable evidence.
