Care Work Diary Minute Share

Normalize explicitly recorded care minutes by observed diary time after supplied exclusions.

Description

Calculate care-work diary minutes as a share of observed minutes.

Aging research distinguishes participant and informant identities, calendar-month coordinates, time-use exposure and event/censoring status. Proxy responses and missing codes carry different meanings from direct observations. Local record summaries do not establish lifespan, legal status, accessibility or appropriate care.

Calculate care-work diary minutes as a share of observed minutes.

When to use this tool

Use Care Work Diary Minute Share when checking the stated aging-study record, timing, censoring or support convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter careMinutes, observedMinutes, excludedMinutes. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read eligibleMinutes, careFraction. Use the output convention below.

Require observedMinutes>excludedMinutes>=0 and careMinutes within the retained interval. Return eligibleMinutes=observed-excluded and careMinutes/eligible.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Care minutes must already exclude discarded time; the share does not measure burden, quality or a suitable level of care.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use verified original records and suitable complete research methods; involve qualified health, accessibility or legal professionals for actual care or rights decisions.
