Description
Return width and midpoint as half each endpoint added.
Geriatric research summaries organize supplied observations, activities, and support records. Counts and ratios describe that research data; they are not clinical scores unless an independently validated scoring method explicitly defines them.
Return width and midpoint as half each endpoint added.
When to use this tool
Use Age Record Precision Range when you need a descriptive calculation on supplied geriatric research records.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter earliestAge, latestAge. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read width, midpoint. Use the output convention below.
Require nonnegative earliestAge and latestAge at least earliest. Return width and midpoint as half each endpoint added.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| earliestAge | Earliest Age | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| latestAge | Latest Age | Required. Finite number. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| width | Width or interval span on the measurement basis above. | Required. Finite number. |
| midpoint | Midpoint | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- A midpoint is a numeric summary of the supplied interval, not a verified age or a probabilistic estimate; dates, capacity, and clinical meaning are not inferred.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use the appropriate validated assessment and professional review when clinical interpretation is required. Check observation scope, missingness, and denominator conventions before comparing research summaries.
