Gravity Drift Anchor Weight Tool

Calculate gravity drift anchor weight from explicit caller-supplied inputs.

Description

Linearly interpolate firstDrift and lastDrift and subtract the interpolated value from observed.

Potential-field calculations describe local gravity or magnetic adjustments and spectral operations. Sign, vertical direction, and wavenumber convention affect the result; a single factor does not produce a complete corrected survey.

Linearly interpolate firstDrift and lastDrift and subtract the interpolated value from observed.

When to use this tool

Use Gravity Drift Anchor Weight when you need a local potential-field term with supplied coefficients or geometry.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter time, firstTime, lastTime, firstDrift, lastDrift, observed. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read anchorWeight, interpolatedDrift, corrected. Use the output convention below.

Require increasing anchor times and time within them. Linearly interpolate firstDrift and lastDrift and subtract the interpolated value from observed.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Times share units and origin and drift shares observation units; no extrapolation, physical drift model, anchor quality, or actual instrument calibration is established.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Process the complete survey using the intended reference model and correction chain. Check spectral conventions, boundary handling, and input units rather than combining isolated terms without their model context.
