Description
Parse coordinatesJson as a JSON array.
A GeoJSON position is an ordered coordinate tuple. Its dimension and individual ordinates are structural information; the presence of a third value alone does not establish a usable altitude or a valid coordinate reference.
Parse coordinatesJson as a JSON array.
When to use this tool
Use Point Altitude Null Rejection Flag when you need a coordinate-tuple shape check or explicit ordinate operation.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter coordinatesJson. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read valid, hasAltitude. Inspect valid, hasAltitude before interpreting the associated values.
Parse coordinatesJson as a JSON array. Return valid only for at least two entries all finite numbers, and hasAltitude independently for array length at least three.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| coordinatesJson | Coordinates Json | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| valid | Whether this specific check passes; not necessarily a full object-validity verdict. | Required. Boolean. |
| hasAltitude | Whether the input array has a third slot, even when its value is null and valid is false. | Required. Boolean. |
{
"input": {
"coordinatesJson": "[10,20,null]"
},
"output": {
"valid": false,
"hasAltitude": true
}
} Limitations and assumptions
- A null third value can produce hasAltitude true with valid false; no longitude/latitude range, maximum dimension, altitude reference, or full GeoJSON conformance is checked.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Validate the complete coordinate convention and geometry before geospatial use. For actual coordinate conversion, use a transformation with the source and target reference systems explicitly specified.
