UV Reactivity Note Generator

Produce bounded observation-only UV reactivity note from measured post-excitation frames and caller detection policy; no lifetime extrapolation, phosphorescence mechanism, identity or UV handling advice.

Description

UV-excited emission can remain observable after excitation ends.

UV-excited emission can remain observable after excitation ends. Observations at the final measured frame only describe detection within that record.1

Produce bounded observation-only UV reactivity note from measured post-excitation frames and caller detection policy; no lifetime extrapolation, phosphorescence mechanism, identity or UV handling advice.

When to use UV Reactivity Note Generator

Use this tool to produce bounded observation-only UV reactivity note from measured post-excitation frames and caller detection policy; no lifetime extrapolation, phosphorescence mechanism, identity or UV handling advice.

Prepare the gemstone measurements, spectra or comparison data and any supplied calibration parameters. Check units, reference conditions and record alignment.

How to use UV Reactivity Note Generator and understand its results

  1. Prepare the gemstone measurements, spectra or comparison data and any supplied calibration parameters. Check units, reference conditions and record alignment.
  2. Enter observationTimesSeconds, measuredEmissionSignals, excitationOffFrameIndex, backgroundSignal, callerDetectionExcessThreshold using the field table and calculation rules, then run the tool.
  3. Read observedPostExcitationExcesses, postExcitationDetected, finalFrameAboveCallerDetection, note. The explanation below defines the units, signs, ordering and any flags or placeholder values.
  4. If the tool reports an input issue, correct the values and run it again. Apply the stated assumptions when interpreting a successfully returned result.

observationTimesSecondsObservation times secondslist of numberRequired
measuredEmissionSignalsMeasured emission signalslist of numberRequired
excitationOffFrameIndexExcitation off frame indexintegerRequired
backgroundSignalBackground signalnumberRequired
callerDetectionExcessThresholdCaller detection excess thresholdnumberRequired

Pair nonnegative signals with increasing seconds and an integer excitation-off index inside the sequence. Include that frame and all later frames, subtract nonnegative background and compare with a nonnegative strict detection threshold. Return excesses, detection flags and an observation-only note.

Paired lists must be nonempty and have equal lengths. Each sequence checked for increasing order must contain at least two strictly increasing values.

post-excitation excess=measured signal−background; detection when excess>threshold

Units, indexing, boundary conditions and exceptional cases are defined in the calculation rules above.

Limitations and assumptions

No lifetime extrapolation, emission mechanism or gemstone identity is inferred.

Numeric inputs and returned numeric values must be finite; an unrepresentable returned value produces an error. Numeric lists are limited to 100,000 entries; the rules above may require smaller limits. Missing required fields, extra fields, wrong value types and violations of the calculation rules are input errors. A successfully returned false flag is an evaluated outcome; its meaning is explained above.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use Fluorescence Strength Grade Mapper: Map excitation-normalized background-corrected fluorescence under caller assay-specific bands; retain negative nondetections and no commercial UV grade/material identity or safe lamp exposure inferred. For a complementary task, use Scintillation Pattern Index: Integrate measured temporal brightness variation under piecewise-linear frames, retaining actual exposure; scalar scintillation proxy is not complete observer-dependent sparkle or commercial grade.
