Formatting: Unit Power Superscript Token Tool

Format one opaque unit token with an integer Unicode superscript power, omitting exponent one; does not simplify units or infer dimensional equivalence.

Description

Append superscript signed exponent digits, omitting an exponent of one.

A unit label is text describing a quantity's intended scale. Joining tokens, adding powers or choosing spacing changes presentation; it does not convert the quantity, validate dimensional compatibility or verify a unit registry entry.

Append superscript signed exponent digits, omitting an exponent of one.

When to use this tool

Use Formatting: Unit Power Superscript Token when you need a specific quantity-and-unit text convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter unit, exponent. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read result. Expand result to inspect the returned fields.

Require a unit token of ASCII letters, µ and Ω and integer exponent -999 through 999. Append superscript signed exponent digits, omitting an exponent of one.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input
unitUnitRequired. Text. Implementation limit: 8192 Unicode code points and 16384 UTF-16 code units.
exponentExponentRequired. Safe integer.

resultObject containing the calculated members; expand to inspect the fields below.Required. Object.
result.labelLiteral label; no independent factual or authorization verdict.Calculated result member: string.

Limitations and assumptions

  • The token is not checked against a unit registry and exponent zero remains explicit. No quantity conversion, dimensional validation, or font rendering is performed.
  • Outputs are nested inside result. Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use a unit-aware calculation for actual conversion and dimensional checks. Select a destination-appropriate typography and retain the intended unit meaning when preparing labels.
