Evidence Seal Count Residual Tool

Reconcile supplied disjoint evidence-seal inventory counts without authenticating custody or evidence.

Description

Sum accounted with exact integer intermediates and export numeric accounted and issued-minus-accounted residual.

Evidence records link identifiers, packaging, quantities and source assertions. Literal equality and balanced counts can reveal local inconsistencies, but they cannot authenticate physical evidence, establish custody completeness or determine legal admissibility.

Sum accounted with exact integer intermediates and export numeric accounted and issued-minus-accounted residual.

When to use this tool

Use Evidence Seal Count Residual when you need a scoped evidence-record or quantity-reconciliation diagnostic.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter issued, applied, destroyed, returned. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read accounted, residual. Use the output convention below.

Require nonnegative integer issued/applied/destroyed/returned counts. Sum accounted with exact integer intermediates and export numeric accounted and issued-minus-accounted residual.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Exported integers must remain within the safe numeric contract. Arithmetic reconciliation does not authenticate seals or prove chain-of-custody completeness.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Review authenticated source records and the complete custody process through the appropriate professional procedure. Treat local flags as prompts for investigation rather than independent evidentiary conclusions.
