Evidence Bag Nested Container Token Tool

Encode an ordered supplied outer-container, inner-container and evidence key without asserting chain-of-custody validity.

Description

Record the nesting relationship of an evidence bag and outer container.

Forensic records distinguish exhibit identity, container links, declared conclusions, timestamp resolution and measurement bases. A matching seal string or recorded certificate is not authentication or proof of custody. Redacted display text and salt-version labels also do not by themselves establish sufficient de-identification or lawful disclosure.

Record the nesting relationship of an evidence bag and outer container.

When to use this tool

Use Evidence Bag Nested Container Token when checking the stated exhibit record, measurement, time or display-policy convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter outerContainerId, innerContainerId, evidenceId. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read token. Use the output convention below.

Require nonempty outer-container, inner-container and evidence IDs. Encode the ordered triple as JSON text.1

evidenceIdEvidence IdRequired. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192.
Output fieldInterpretationReturned shape

Limitations and assumptions

  • Labels alone do not establish physical containment, distinct containers, tamper evidence or a verified custody chain.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Review verified original evidence and custody records using qualified forensic and legal assessment for actual interpretation, disclosure and evidential decisions.
