Deidentified Case Linkage Salt Label Tool

Record supplied case-linkage namespace and salt-version metadata without creating hashes, storing secrets or claiming anonymization.

Description

Label a supplied case-linkage procedure and salt version.

Forensic records distinguish exhibit identity, container links, declared conclusions, timestamp resolution and measurement bases. A matching seal string or recorded certificate is not authentication or proof of custody. Redacted display text and salt-version labels also do not by themselves establish sufficient de-identification or lawful disclosure.

Label a supplied case-linkage procedure and salt version.

When to use this tool

Use Deidentified Case Linkage Salt Label when checking the stated exhibit record, measurement, time or display-policy convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter caseNamespace, suppliedSaltVersion, linkageProcedureId. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read token. Use the output convention below.

Require nonempty case namespace, supplied salt version and linkage-procedure ID. Encode the ordered triple as JSON text.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input
caseNamespaceCase NamespaceRequired. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192.
suppliedSaltVersionNonempty salt-version label; no salt generation, hashing or anonymization occurs.Required. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192.
linkageProcedureIdLinkage Procedure IdRequired. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192.
Output fieldInterpretationReturned shape
tokenJSON-encoded ordered tuple or literal token under the convention above; not a database lookup or authentication result.Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192.

Limitations and assumptions

  • No salt is generated, data hashed or case linkage performed; the label does not establish anonymization, secure pseudonymization or lawful disclosure.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Review verified original evidence and custody records using qualified forensic and legal assessment for actual interpretation, disclosure and evidential decisions.
