Description
Add returned and destroyed, subtract overlap once, and return outstanding and recovered/original share, or flagged zero.
Food-safety records connect lots, samples, tests, labels and handling events. Consistent identifiers and reconciled quantities support record review, but do not establish safe food, complete traceability or valid regulatory approval.
Add returned and destroyed, subtract overlap once, and return outstanding and recovered/original share, or flagged zero.
When to use this tool
Use Recall Quantity Original Base when you need a specified food-handling record or traceability diagnostic.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter originalUnits, returnedUnits, destroyedUnits, overlapUnits. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read uniqueRecovered, outstanding, recoveredFraction, defined. Inspect defined before interpreting the associated values.
Require nonnegative nested recovery counts with bounded overlap and union no greater than original. Add returned and destroyed, subtract overlap once, and return outstanding and recovered/original share, or flagged zero.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| originalUnits | Original Units | Required. Safe integer; minimum 0. |
| returnedUnits | Returned Units | Required. Safe integer; minimum 0. |
| destroyedUnits | Destroyed Units | Required. Safe integer; minimum 0. |
| overlapUnits | Overlap Units | Required. Safe integer; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| uniqueRecovered | Unique Recovered | Required. Safe integer. |
| outstanding | Outstanding | Required. Safe integer. |
| recoveredFraction | Recovered Fraction | Required. Finite number. |
| defined | Whether the stated denominator or normalization exists; inspect before interpreting a zero placeholder. | Required. Boolean. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Original zero makes the ratio undefined. This is record accounting, not independent recall effectiveness, product safety or traceability verification.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Review the complete controlled records, actual product condition and applicable validated procedures. Authenticate sources and approvals rather than treating one matching token or balance as a safety verdict.
