Food Temperature Logger Time Offset Term Tool

Apply a supplied clock correction before comparing a logging timestamp.

Description

Add offsetSeconds to recordedTime, then subtract referenceTime for correctedGap.

A time-window check needs explicit endpoints, inclusion rules and a common clock. Caller-supplied holding limits and temperature flags are model inputs; passing a local check does not establish a safe handling process.

Add offsetSeconds to recordedTime, then subtract referenceTime for correctedGap.

When to use this tool

Use Food Temperature Logger Time Offset Term when you need an explicit holding-window, clock or sampled-duration calculation.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter recordedTime, offsetSeconds, referenceTime. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read correctedTime, correctedGap. Use the output convention below.

Add offsetSeconds to recordedTime, then subtract referenceTime for correctedGap.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Times use seconds on a common numeric origin. The sign is add-to-recorded, unlike some subtract-offset tools; clock metadata and safe handling are not verified.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use the applicable validated food-safety procedure and complete temperature/time history. Resolve sensor calibration, sampling gaps and product-specific limits before making handling decisions.
