Description

Add volumes, dilute stock fraction by stock/total, and return total/stock dilution factor.

A food measurement can require calibration, recovery correction or a defined reference state. A corrected value or reporting envelope is only one analytical step and does not independently establish contamination status, shelf life or safety.

Add volumes, dilute stock fraction by stock/total, and return total/stock dilution factor.

When to use this tool

Use Food Sanitizer Bench Dilution Factor when you need the specified laboratory or bench-measurement term.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter stockFraction, stockVolume, addedVolume. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read totalVolume, finalFraction, dilutionFactor. Use the output convention below.

Require stock fraction in [0, 1], positive stock volume and nonnegative added volume. Add volumes, dilute stock fraction by stock/total, and return total/stock dilution factor.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Volumes are assumed additive and fractions on a compatible volume basis. This is bench arithmetic, not instructions for sanitizer selection, effective concentration, safe mixing or use.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use a validated analytical method and the appropriate safety assessment. Review reference conditions, units, uncertainty, recovery and product-specific interpretation rather than inferring safety from a single number.
