Description
Expand with exact integer arithmetic and return recorded minus expansion as safe numeric outputs.
Food-safety records connect lots, samples, tests, labels and handling events. Consistent identifiers and reconciled quantities support record review, but do not establish safe food, complete traceability or valid regulatory approval.
Expand with exact integer arithmetic and return recorded minus expansion as safe numeric outputs.
When to use this tool
Use Food Lot Package Conversion Gap when you need a specified food-handling record or traceability diagnostic.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter packages, unitsPerPackage, looseUnits, recordedUnits. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read expandedUnits, discrepancy. Use the output convention below.
Require nonnegative integer packages, loose units and recorded units and positive unitsPerPackage. Expand with exact integer arithmetic and return recorded minus expansion as safe numeric outputs.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|

| unitsPerPackage | Units Per Package | Required. Safe integer; minimum 1. |
| looseUnits | Loose Units | Required. Safe integer; minimum 0. |
| recordedUnits | Recorded Units | Required. Safe integer; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |

| expandedUnits | Expanded Units | Required. Safe integer. |
| discrepancy | Discrepancy | Required. Safe integer. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Loose units need not be below one package. The balance does not authenticate lot content or determine product safety.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Review the complete controlled records, actual product condition and applicable validated procedures. Authenticate sources and approvals rather than treating one matching token or balance as a safety verdict.
