Description
Calculate remaining randomization-cell capacity and flag a full or overfilled cell.
Experimental-psychology records separate condition labels, declared masking, timing assumptions, response rules and reward realizations. A supplied random draw can be evaluated without generating randomness, and a threshold comparison does not verify preregistration or establish statistical significance. Experimental validity needs the complete design and source observations.
Calculate remaining randomization-cell capacity and flag a full or overfilled cell.
When to use this tool
Use Randomization Cell Residual Capacity when checking the stated benign experiment record, timing, allocation or payoff convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter targetAssignments, existingAssignments. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read remainingCapacity, fullOrOverfilled. Inspect fullOrOverfilled before interpreting the associated values.
Require nonnegative whole target/existing assignment counts. Return target-existing signed remaining capacity and fullOrOverfilled when existing>=target.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| targetAssignments | Target Assignments | Required. Safe integer; minimum 0. |
| existingAssignments | Existing Assignments | Required. Safe integer; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| remainingCapacity | Remaining Capacity | Required. Safe integer. |
| fullOrOverfilled | existingAssignments>=targetAssignments; equality is full. | Required. Boolean. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Equality is full and excess gives negative capacity; no randomization, allocation concealment or actual assignment is performed.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use verified protocols, calibrated timing, appropriate complete statistical methods and responsible participant/ethics review for actual experimental conclusions.
