Disclosure Delay From Explicit Date Tool

Signed supplied disclosure timing with an explicit accounting pause, without determining a disclosure duty.

Description

Return disclosure-minus-event day delay and subtract the pause allowance.

An obligation or disclosure timeline needs a common origin and an explicit rule for extensions or pauses. Numeric slack shows the supplied time budget without establishing whether an extension is authorized or a duty was met.

Return disclosure-minus-event day delay and subtract the pause allowance.

When to use this tool

Use Disclosure Delay From Explicit Date when you need a supplied deadline or disclosure-delay calculation.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter eventDay, disclosureDay, suppliedPauseDays. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read calendarDelay, countedDelay. Use the output convention below.

Require nonnegative integer suppliedPauseDays. Return disclosure-minus-event day delay and subtract the pause allowance.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Signed delays, including negative counted delay, are retained. No calendar, authorized pause, reporting duty or legal deadline is selected.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Verify the actual applicable duty, timing rule and source dates. Review authorization for pauses and extensions before treating an arithmetic deadline as binding.
