Decision Reversibility Tag Tool

Tag an explicitly assessed decision reversibility state. The cost is a caller-defined amount and must be zero when no reversal exists.

Description

Return reversible with the stated cost or irreversible.

An ethics record can document claims, responsibilities, disclosures, decisions, and supplied weights. A formatted label or arithmetic allocation does not resolve the ethical question or demonstrate that a process was fair.

Return reversible with the stated cost or irreversible.

When to use this tool

Use Decision Reversibility Tag when you need one explicit component of a documented ethical analysis.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter canReverse, reversalCost. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read tag. Use the output convention below.

Require nonnegative reversalCost and force it to zero when canReverse is false. Return reversible with the stated cost or irreversible.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • This uses supplied feasibility and cost rather than analyzing actual reversibility, risk, ethical acceptability, or nonfinancial consequences.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Review the complete context, affected perspectives, and decision process rather than treating the output as an ethical verdict.
