RULA Final Grand Score Action Level Mapper

Map supplied adjusted RULA A/B scores with 8+/7+ indexing into caller grand table and caller action bands; score/action evidence is version-dependent and not a work-safety decision.

Description

A RULA grand table caps high adjusted A/B scores into its final rows and columns.

A RULA grand table caps high adjusted A/B scores into its final rows and columns. Action levels depend on caller bands.1

Enter integer A/B scores 1–13, exact 8×7 grand table with integer cells 1–7 and 2–128 strictly increasing finite action lower edges. The score must meet the first lower edge. Return score, one-based action level and capped zero-based indexes.

When to use RULA Final Grand Score Action Level Mapper

Use RULA Final Grand Score Action Level Mapper when you need to evaluate the supplied records under the calculation and evidence rules below. No default protocol table, interpretation of action urgency or safe-work approval is supplied.

Prepare measured task, body, furniture or already weighted exposure records. Supply independently verified caller policies, tables and comparison limits with matching units and conditions.

How to use RULA Final Grand Score Action Level Mapper and understand its results

  1. Prepare measured task, body, furniture or already weighted exposure records. Supply independently verified caller policies, tables and comparison limits with matching units and conditions.
  2. Enter adjustedScoreA, adjustedScoreB, callerGrandScoreTable, callerActionLevelLowerEdges using the field table and calculation rules, then run the tool.
  3. Read grandScore, callerActionLevel, cappedTableRowIndex, cappedTableColumnIndex. The explanation below defines the units, signs, ordering and any flags or placeholder values.
  4. If the tool reports an input issue, correct the values and run it again. Apply the stated assumptions when interpreting a successfully returned result.

Limitations and assumptions

No default protocol table, interpretation of action urgency or safe-work approval is supplied.

Numeric inputs, where present, must be finite. Follow the calculation-specific rules for overflow, underflow and exceptional cases. Matrices are limited to 128 rows and 128 entries per row. Numeric lists are limited to 10,000 entries; string lists to 128 strings of at most 128 characters each. The rules above may impose smaller limits. Missing required fields, extra fields, wrong value types and violations of the calculation rules are input errors.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use RULA Neck-Trunk-Legs Score Calculator: RULA Group B combines neck, trunk and leg posture scores. Its table and separate adjustments must come from the caller’s chosen protocol. For a complementary task, use RULA Upper Limb Group A Score Calculator: RULA Group A combines upper/lower arm, wrist and twist posture. Versioned table lookup and load adjustments are separate steps.
