Description
Count records or distinct people, with positive under any test or the first input occurrence as chosen.
Epidemiological shares depend on who or what enters each denominator. Tests, distinct people, known-status records and eligible contacts describe different populations; a ratio computed from them is not automatically population risk or an individual diagnosis.
Count records or distinct people, with positive under any test or the first input occurrence as chosen.
When to use this tool
Use Test Positivity Repeated Person Exclusion when you need a stated surveillance or screening count summary.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter personIds, positive, policy. Keep parallel arrays aligned. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read denominator, positiveCount, positivity. Use the output convention below.
Require aligned nonempty person IDs/test flags and tests, people-any-positive or people-first-test policy. Count records or distinct people, with positive under any test or the first input occurrence as chosen.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| personIds | Person Ids | Required. Array of text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192; maximum items 256. |
| positive | Sign or comparison flag under the stated rule. | Required. Array of boolean; maximum items 256. |
| policy | Tests, distinct people with any positive, or first input occurrence per person; first is not chronological sorting. | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| denominator | Denominator | Required. Safe integer. |
| positiveCount | Positive Count | Required. Safe integer. |
| positivity | Positivity | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- First means input order, not earliest chronological date. Repeated-test policy changes the denominator and no test validity, infection diagnosis or population prevalence is inferred.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use the appropriate study design and verified case definitions for health interpretation. Address ascertainment, repeated records, missing status, selection and uncertainty before generalizing a descriptive proportion.
