Sentinel Report Missing Week Mask Tool

Exact caller-defined week identifier audit; reporting completeness does not imply zero cases or surveillance sensitivity.

Description

Return missing expected and unexpected reported tokens, and complete when no expected week is missing.

Epidemiological shares depend on who or what enters each denominator. Tests, distinct people, known-status records and eligible contacts describe different populations; a ratio computed from them is not automatically population risk or an individual diagnosis.

Return missing expected and unexpected reported tokens, and complete when no expected week is missing.

When to use this tool

Use Sentinel Report Missing Week Mask when you need a stated surveillance or screening count summary.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter reportedWeeks, expectedWeeks. Keep parallel arrays aligned. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read missingWeeks, unexpectedWeeks, complete. Inspect complete before interpreting the associated values.

Require unique reported/expected integer week IDs. Return missing expected and unexpected reported tokens, and complete when no expected week is missing.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input
reportedWeeksUnique integer week IDs, not parsed calendar-week strings.Required. Array of safe integer; maximum items 256.
expectedWeeksUnique expected integer week IDs under the same convention.Required. Array of safe integer; maximum items 256.

missingWeeksMissing WeeksRequired. Array of safe integer; maximum items 256.
unexpectedWeeksUnexpected WeeksRequired. Array of safe integer; maximum items 256.

Limitations and assumptions

  • Unexpected weeks do not make complete false. Week IDs are not parsed as actual dates and reporting validity or disease surveillance quality is not verified.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use the appropriate study design and verified case definitions for health interpretation. Address ascertainment, repeated records, missing status, selection and uncertainty before generalizing a descriptive proportion.
