Description
Preserve an infection-test censor code with supplied lower and upper bound text.
Epidemiological reporting depends on case-definition versions, observation windows, censoring, person/test denominators and time-bin boundaries. Missing and indeterminate results differ, while multiple tests can belong to one person. Local record arithmetic does not diagnose infection, establish transmission or select a public-health rule.
Preserve an infection-test censor code with supplied lower and upper bound text.
When to use this tool
Use Infection Test Left Censor Interval Token when checking the stated benign surveillance record, time, exposure or denominator convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter testId, lowerBoundText, upperBoundText, suppliedCensorCode. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read token. Use the output convention below.
Require nonempty test ID, lower/upper bound texts and censor code. Encode the ordered quadruple as JSON text.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| testId | Test Id | Required. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| lowerBoundText | Lower Bound Text | Required. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| upperBoundText | Upper Bound Text | Required. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| suppliedCensorCode | Supplied Censor Code | Required. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| token | JSON-encoded ordered tuple or literal token under the convention above; not a database lookup or authentication result. | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
{
"input": {
"testId": "T17",
"lowerBoundText": "unknown",
"upperBoundText": "2026-11-01",
"suppliedCensorCode": "left-censored"
},
"output": {
"token": "[\"T17\",\"unknown\",\"2026-11-01\",\"left-censored\"]"
}
} Limitations and assumptions
- Bounds are not parsed or ordered; no infection status, actual detection limit or censored-data estimate is inferred.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use verified source records, current authoritative definitions and appropriate complete epidemiological/statistical methods with qualified public-health interpretation for actual decisions.
