Recycling Deposit Unredeemed Value Term Tool

Reconcile supplied issued and redeemed deposit counts and value the signed remainder without selecting refund or revenue-recognition policy.

Description

Calculate signed unredeemed deposit units and value.

Environmental economic terms depend on price decomposition, attributable cost, deposit accounting and supplied counterfactuals. A signed difference can be negative, and a cost share does not establish willingness to pay. Local scenario arithmetic does not estimate scarcity, causal benefit, entitlement or an optimal environmental policy.

Calculate signed unredeemed deposit units and value.

When to use this tool

Use Recycling Deposit Unredeemed Value Term when you already have issuedUnits, redeemedUnits, depositPerUnit and need to calculate signed unredeemed deposit units and value.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter issuedUnits, redeemedUnits, depositPerUnit. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read unredeemedUnits, unredeemedValue. Use the output convention below.

Require nonnegative safe whole issued/redeemed counts and nonnegative depositPerUnit; return issued-redeemed and that count*deposit.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Redemptions may exceed issues, giving negative values; no actual balance, entitlement, redemption behavior or liability is verified.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use the complete cost, valuation or causal study with explicit boundaries and verified source data for an economic conclusion. Reconcile deposit records and actual fee rules separately; a supplied price wedge or counterfactual difference is only one scenario term.
