Description
Subtract a supplied exemption from a gross environmental levy.
Environmental valuation separates measured quantities, supplied unit values, accounting flows and assumed counterfactuals. A permit balance differs from a verified registry holding, and an avoided-tonne cost requires a defined baseline and cost boundary. Income-adjusted benefit transfer depends on a supplied elasticity rather than establishing transferable welfare benefits.

- Enter grossLevy, suppliedExemption. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read netLevy. Use the output convention below.

} Limitations and assumptions
- A larger exemption gives a negative result. The tool does not decide whether an exemption or refund is legally available.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use the complete emissions, cost, valuation and registry records for an actual environmental assessment. Review the relevant accounting boundary and applicable rules before combining local payment, exemption or unit-benefit terms into a policy conclusion.
