Description
Shift a supplied collection clock and count crossed daily boundaries.
Endocrine records distinguish specimen matrices, assay methods, unit bases, reference editions and sampling clocks. A printed significant-digit count differs from numerical rounding, while a fasting label is a reported state rather than verified preparation. Image axes and result labels organize supplied observations without deriving hormone physiology or clinical interpretation.

When to use this tool
Use Endocrine Collection Shift Clock Wrap when you already have minuteOfDay, suppliedShiftMinutes and need to shift a supplied collection clock and count crossed daily boundaries.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter minuteOfDay, suppliedShiftMinutes. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read shiftedMinuteOfDay, dayOffset. Use the output convention below.
Require minuteOfDay in [0,1440), add suppliedShiftMinutes and require a finite sum; wrap modulo 1440 and return floor(sum/1440) as dayOffset.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| minuteOfDay | Minute Of Day | Required. Finite number; minimum 0; strictly below 1440. |
| suppliedShiftMinutes | Supplied Shift Minutes | Required. Finite number. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| shiftedMinuteOfDay | Shifted Minute Of Day | Required. Finite number. |
| dayOffset | Whole floor quotient of shifted clock minutes/1440, using fixed clock cycles rather than civil dates. | Required. Safe integer. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Fractional minutes are accepted. This uses fixed 1440-minute clock cycles, not civil dates, daylight-saving rules or clinical collection windows; unsafe day offsets are rejected.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Reconcile the laboratory report, specimen and method information, reference source and collection timeline before comparing results. Use the complete appropriate assessment for a clinical question; one clock correction, diameter ratio or recorded status does not provide it.
