Description
Label an equipment seal's recorded expiry and compare calendar dates.
Emergency records distinguish event clocks, retrospective entry times, equipment dates, encounter identifiers and recorded triage or laboratory states. A supplied time gap is not a verified performance measure, and a recorded seal expiry does not establish equipment readiness. Simulation duty fractions and role labels describe training records rather than emergency-care instructions.
Label an equipment seal's recorded expiry and compare calendar dates.
When to use this tool
Use Emergency Equipment Seal Expiry when you already have sealReference, expiryDate, asOfDate and need to label an equipment seal's recorded expiry and compare calendar dates.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter sealReference, expiryDate, asOfDate. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read label, expired. Inspect expired before interpreting the associated values.
Require sealReference nonempty and real UTC expiry/asOf dates; return valid-through label and expired=asOf>expiry.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| sealReference | Seal Reference | Required. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| expiryDate | Expiry Date | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. Real proleptic Gregorian YYYY-MM-DD; four-digit years 0000-9999 accepted. |
| asOfDate | As Of Date | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. Real proleptic Gregorian YYYY-MM-DD; four-digit years 0000-9999 accepted. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| label | Label | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| expired | True only when asOfDate is later than expiryDate; equal calendar dates are not flagged expired. | Required. Boolean. |
{
"input": {
"sealReference": "SEAL17",
"expiryDate": "2026-12-01",
"asOfDate": "2026-11-01"
},
"output": {
"label": "SEAL17 valid through 2026-12-01",
"expired": false
}
} Limitations and assumptions
- Expiry date itself is not flagged expired. The label records a date; seal integrity, sterility, equipment readiness and actual validity are not verified.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Review the actual event, equipment and laboratory records with verified timing and the complete clinical workflow. Treat local flags and interval arithmetic as record checks; they do not supply triage, response protocols, safe staffing or an assessment of a real emergency.
