Description
Return targetPotential = measuredPotential+sourceReferenceVsCommon-targetReferenceVsCommon+junctionCorrection.
Electrochemical potentials require a common reference electrode, unit and sign convention. Endpoint differences and scan partitions are record operations; changing the reference scale or correcting drift needs explicit supplied offsets.
Return targetPotential = measuredPotential+sourceReferenceVsCommon-targetReferenceVsCommon+junctionCorrection.
When to use this tool
Use Electrode Reference Scale Potential Shift when checking a supplied potential reference or scan-boundary convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter measuredPotential, sourceReferenceVsCommon, targetReferenceVsCommon, junctionCorrection. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read targetPotential. Use the output convention below.
Return targetPotential = measuredPotential+sourceReferenceVsCommon-targetReferenceVsCommon+junctionCorrection. All potentials share one unit and the two reference offsets use the same common reference.1

} Limitations and assumptions
- Junction correction is added under this convention. Reference values, temperature dependence and liquid-junction behavior are supplied rather than determined.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use calibrated references and full recorded waveforms when drift, reversal detection, peak fitting or experimental interpretation matters.
