Description
nextInterval = max(minimum,min(maximum,previousInterval*multiplier)).
Educational time and material budgets need explicit working time, pauses, transitions, capacity and rate conventions. A numerical schedule allocation is a planning aid, not a validated recommendation for learning pace or an automatically feasible timetable.
nextInterval = max(minimum,min(maximum,previousInterval*multiplier)).
When to use this tool
Use Spaced Practice Explicit Interval Step when checking a supplied teaching, study or assessment-resource budget.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter previousInterval, multiplier, minimum, maximum. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read nextInterval. Use the output convention below.
Require nonnegative previousInterval, multiplier and minimum and maximum >= minimum. nextInterval = max(minimum,min(maximum,previousInterval*multiplier)).1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| previousInterval | Previous Interval | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| multiplier | Multiplier | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| minimum | Minimum | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| maximum | Maximum | Required. Finite number. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| nextInterval | Next Interval | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Use a common time unit for interval bounds. This bounded scheduling rule is caller-defined, not an adaptive memory model or evidence of an optimal practice interval.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use the actual timetable, resources, learner needs and approved policies to assess a practical plan.
