Description
Measure a signed submission gap from a supplied deadline.
Educational records need explicit score maxima, optional-criterion policy, timing allowances, choice positions and group capacities. Optional points and their maxima must use the same inclusion rule. Nominal seat counts and supplied extension fractions do not establish actual accessibility, attendance, appropriate support or assessment fairness.
Measure a signed submission gap from a supplied deadline.
When to use this tool
Use Homework Deadline Cutoff Offset when you already have suppliedDeadlineSeconds, submissionSeconds and need to measure a signed submission gap from a supplied deadline.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter suppliedDeadlineSeconds, submissionSeconds. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read signedGap. Use the output convention below.
Return submissionSeconds-suppliedDeadlineSeconds.1

| suppliedDeadlineSeconds | Supplied Deadline Seconds | Required. Finite number. |
| submissionSeconds | Submission Seconds | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Positive means after the supplied deadline; zero is equality. No timezone, grace period, late penalty or actual deadline policy is applied.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Review the complete rubric, course and accommodation policy, schedule and actual classroom arrangement for operational decisions. Work with the full records when scoring, grouping or access matters beyond one supplied count, tag comparison or time allowance.
