Predecimal Coin Account Value Token Tool

Aggregate an explicit three-level currency denomination system; radices are supplied from the historical source.

Description

minorTotal = (major*middlePerMajor+middle)*minorPerMiddle+minor; majorEquivalent sums the corresponding fractional major units.

Historical monetary and physical units can have local or period-specific conversion bases. Exact subunit arithmetic and supplied mass factors preserve a declared interpretation but do not select the correct historical system automatically.

minorTotal = (major*middlePerMajor+middle)*minorPerMiddle+minor; majorEquivalent sums the corresponding fractional major units.

When to use this tool

Use Predecimal Coin Account Value Token when applying an explicit historical unit or subunit convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter major, middle, minor, middlePerMajor, minorPerMiddle. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read minorTotal, majorEquivalent. Use the output convention below.

Require nonnegative whole major, middle and minor amounts and positive whole middlePerMajor and minorPerMiddle. minorTotal = (major*middlePerMajor+middle)*minorPerMiddle+minor; majorEquivalent sums the corresponding fractional major units.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Noncanonical subunit amounts are accepted rather than rejected or separately normalized. Conversion bases are supplied, not a historical currency lookup; safe numeric output bounds still apply.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Consult the source’s place, date and commodity or currency context before choosing conversion factors.
