Description
Compare supplied expected and observed Braille dot sets.
Unicode Braille patterns encode raised-dot combinations rather than language-specific meaning. The same cell pattern can have different roles across Braille codes, and a visible character is not verification of a tactile surface.
Compare supplied expected and observed Braille dot sets.
When to use this tool
Use Braille Cell Missing Dot Mask when checking an explicit eight-dot pattern or dot-set difference.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter expectedDots, observedDots. Keep parallel arrays aligned. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read missingDots, extraDots. Use the output convention below.
Compare supplied expected and observed Braille dot sets. Require dot values in [1,8]; deduplicate in first-occurrence order and return expected-only missingDots and observed-only extraDots.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| expectedDots | Expected Dots | Required. Array of safe integer; maximum items 256. |
| observedDots | Observed Dots | Required. Array of safe integer; maximum items 256. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |

| missingDots | Missing Dots | Required. Array of safe integer; maximum items 256. |
| extraDots | Extra Dots | Required. Array of safe integer; maximum items 256. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- The tool does not recognize images, translate Braille or verify tactile print quality.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use a language-appropriate Braille translator and physical quality review for meaningful accessible output.
