Trial Attention Support Share Tool

Calculate trial attention support share from explicit caller-supplied inputs.

Description

Return attention-duration support within valid task observations.

Developmental research records may encode task eligibility, known responses, observer roles and withdrawal. A flag or support share describes supplied observations and does not independently assess a child, verify consent or establish a clinical interpretation.

Return attention-duration support within valid task observations.

When to use this tool

Use Trial Attention Support Share when checking explicit developmental-study record and observation rules.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter durations, taskActive, validObservation, attentive. Keep parallel arrays aligned. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read validTaskDuration, attentiveDuration, share, defined. Inspect defined before interpreting the associated values.

Return attention-duration support within valid task observations. Require aligned nonnegative durations and taskActive/validObservation/attentive flags; sum valid active time and its attentive subset, dividing only when the denominator is positive.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • The zero-total share is an undefined placeholder; supplied attention codes are not independently evaluated.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use an approved study protocol and appropriate professional assessment for participant decisions, developmental interpretation or clinical questions.
