Description
Return joint-attention response lag and window membership.
Developmental task timing and coded sequences need a common clock and explicit rules for exclusions, adjacency and response windows. A delay, duration share or transition rate is descriptive rather than a measure of developmental status.
Return joint-attention response lag and window membership.
When to use this tool
Use Joint Attention Initiation Response Lag when checking a supplied task-time or coded-sequence convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter initiationSeconds, responseSeconds, maximumLag. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read lagSeconds, withinWindow. Inspect withinWindow before interpreting the associated values.
Return joint-attention response lag and window membership. Require maximumLag >= 0; lagSeconds = response-initiation and withinWindow requires a nonnegative lag <= maximumLag.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| initiationSeconds | Initiation Seconds | Required. Finite number. |
| responseSeconds | Response Seconds | Required. Finite number. |
| maximumLag | Maximum Lag | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| lagSeconds | Lag Seconds | Required. Finite number. |
| withinWindow | Within Window | Required. Boolean. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Negative lag is retained; the supplied window does not establish a clinically meaningful response criterion.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
