Description
Parse LCOV branch-taken count or unknown sentinel.
Coverage records distinguish source locations, hit counts and unknown observations. Parsing one LCOV line or branch token preserves its metadata but does not establish that source mapping, collection or overall coverage is correct.
Parse LCOV branch-taken count or unknown sentinel.
When to use this tool
Use LCOV Branch Taken Missing Value when inspecting one bounded coverage-record token.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter token. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read known, taken. Inspect known before interpreting the associated values.
Parse LCOV branch-taken count or unknown sentinel. Accept - or canonical nonnegative decimal text convertible to a safe integer; return known and taken, using zero when unknown.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| token | Token | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| known | Whether the supplied value has the stated known observation or vocabulary status. | Required. Boolean. |
| taken | Known nonnegative count, or zero placeholder when known is false. | Required. Safe integer. |
{
"input": {
"token": "-"
},
"output": {
"known": false,
"taken": 0
}
} Limitations and assumptions
- Unknown is not an observed zero; read taken together with known.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
Alternative or Complementary methods
