Description
Parse a single INI section header under an explicit trim rule.
Build and configuration formats have dialect-specific quoting, whitespace and escaping rules. A local prefix or character transformation handles only the declared fragment, leaving full parsing, evaluation and precedence to the consuming implementation.
Parse a single INI section header under an explicit trim rule.
When to use this tool
Use Ini Section Leading Trailing Space Rule when inspecting the stated text or configuration fragment.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter line, trim. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read name. Use the output convention below.
Parse a single INI section header under an explicit trim rule. Require bracketed nonempty content without closing bracket or line breaks; return interior text, optionally trimmed.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| line | Line | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| trim | Trim | Required. Boolean. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| name | Name | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
{
"input": {
"line": "[ section ]",
"trim": true
},
"output": {
"name": "section"
}
} Limitations and assumptions
- A whitespace-only interior may become empty after trimming; full INI dialects and comments are not handled.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use the appropriate full parser and actual configuration context for reliable interpretation or application.
