Electric Pulp Test Threshold Calculator
Actual lowest tested electric-pulp response level with retained lower nonresponses. Device units, tooth/control/conditions external; not exact biological threshold, pulp vitality or a clinical diagnosis.
Description
An electric pulp test records responses at measured stimulus levels.
An electric pulp test records responses at measured stimulus levels.1
The first observed response is a tested threshold and does not alone establish vitality. Use this tool to calculate the stated observation or conditional model from supplied measurements.
When to use Electric Pulp Test Threshold Calculator
Use this tool to calculate the stated observation or conditional model from supplied measurements. Establish the qualified examination or measurement context, matching instrument/protocol edition, site order and units.
How to use Electric Pulp Test Threshold Calculator and understand its results
- Establish the qualified examination or measurement context, matching instrument/protocol edition, site order and units.
- Enter independentlyMeasuredStimulusLevels, actualObservedResponseFlags, using the field meanings and rules below, then run the tool.
- Read result.lowestObservedRespondingStimulusLevel, result.lowerTestedNonresponseLevels. Interpret each field using the units, signs and evidence rules below.
- If input validation fails, correct the reported field and run again. Before applying a successful result, check the stated reference scope, units, assumptions and any retained unknown evidence.
| Input field | Meaning | Value type | Requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| independentlyMeasuredStimulusLevels | Independently measured stimulus levels | list of number | Required |
| actualObservedResponseFlags | Actual observed response flags; binary 0/1 in the order documented below | list of number | Required |
Require at least two aligned finite strictly increasing stimulus levels and binary response flags. At least one response must be observed. Return the lowest responding level and tested nonresponding levels strictly below it. Stimulus levels need not be nonnegative; later responses need not be monotone. No-response evidence fails rather than returning a numeric threshold.
lowestRespondingLevel=min(level_i where response_i=1); lowerNonresponses={level_i<lowest and response_i=0} Apply the field units and exact ordering, boundary and evidence rules above.
| Output field | Meaning | Value type |
|---|---|---|
| result | Structured result containing the calculation or selected reference fields below | object |
| result.lowestObservedRespondingStimulusLevel | Lowest Observed Responding Stimulus Level; use the units, sign convention and calculation stated above | number |
| result.lowerTestedNonresponseLevels | Lower Tested Nonresponse Levels; use the units, sign convention and calculation stated above | list of number |

} Limitations and assumptions
The first observed response is a tested threshold and does not alone establish vitality. Results depend on the independently established measurement basis and the exact model assumptions above.
Every listed input requires an explicit value. Unexpected fields, incorrect value types, nonfinite numbers and sparse numeric arrays fail validation; tool-specific bounds and alignment rules apply as described above. Extremely large inputs or outputs can also be rejected. An input error is distinct from a successful calculation that reports a false comparison or retains unknown evidence.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use Pulp Test Response Checker to examine a related aspect: Pulp sensibility tests observe a response to stimulation.
Use Cold Test Response Checker where its separate inputs and scope apply: Cold testing records a sensory response and its persistence after stimulation.
