Hygiene Session Late Cancellation Interval Tool

Calculate supplied cancellation time minus scheduled session start on one monotonic time basis; negative means before start.

Description

Measure a signed cancellation gap from a supplied appointment start.

Dental records depend on surface notation, assessed and excluded denominators, missing versus observed zero, reporting quanta and recorded equipment dates. Calendar-day counts can be elapsed or inclusive, and nominal expiry comparisons do not establish sterility. Local surface fractions and source labels are not automatically validated clinical indices.

Measure a signed cancellation gap from a supplied appointment start.

When to use this tool

Use Hygiene Session Late Cancellation Interval when you already have scheduledStartElapsedMinutes, cancellationElapsedMinutes and need to measure a signed cancellation gap from a supplied appointment start.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter scheduledStartElapsedMinutes, cancellationElapsedMinutes. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read signedGap. Use the output convention below.

Return cancellationElapsedMinutes-scheduledStartElapsedMinutes.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Negative means before the supplied start. No timezone, grace period, late-cancellation policy, fee or actual appointment is verified.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use original chart, observation and reprocessing records with the complete scoring or controlled workflow. Keep denominator, missingness and date conventions explicit; local arithmetic does not determine oral-health status, appropriate recall intervals or readiness for care.
