Description
Decode one canonical bencode integer token to exact decimal text.
Binary and text framing can encode a payload size, container count or terminator. Those fields describe the following data but must still be checked against its actual bytes and complete structure.
Decode one canonical bencode integer token to exact decimal text.
When to use this tool
Use Decoding: Bencode Integer Token when decoding one bounded framing or header component.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter token. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read result. Expand result to inspect the returned fields.
Decode one canonical bencode integer token to exact decimal text. Require i, canonical zero or signed nonzero-leading decimal digits, then e, with the implementation's bounded digit count; use exact integer parsing.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| token | Token | Required. Text. Implementation limit: 8192 Unicode code points and 16384 UTF-16 code units. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| result | Returned object; expand its named members below. | Required. Object. |
| result.integer | Integer | Calculated result member: string. |
{
"input": {
"token": "i-12e"
},
"output": {
"result": {
"integer": "-12"
}
}
} Limitations and assumptions
- Negative zero, plus signs and leading zeros are rejected; containers are not decoded.
- Outputs are nested inside result. Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use a complete parser for payload validity, nested containers, text encoding and record boundaries.
