Description
Assemble a bounded or open date interval token.
Date labels and intervals depend on origins, endpoint inclusion and calendar versus elapsed-time conventions. Numeric serial periods and local token formats can represent useful bookkeeping without resolving a real instant or official fiscal rule.
Assemble a bounded or open date interval token.
When to use this tool
Use Date Range Unbounded End Token when checking a supplied date-label, duration or interval convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter start, end. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read interval, unboundedStart, unboundedEnd. Inspect unboundedStart, unboundedEnd before interpreting the associated values.
Assemble a bounded or open date interval token. Accept date-only strings or .. at either endpoint; require start <= end when both known; return start/end spelling and unbounded flags.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| start | Start | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| end | End | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. Real proleptic Gregorian YYYY-MM-DD; four-digit years 0000-9999 accepted. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| interval | Interval | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| unboundedStart | Unbounded Start | Required. Boolean. |
| unboundedEnd | Unbounded End | Required. Boolean. |

},
"output": {

} Limitations and assumptions
- This is a local interval representation, not a complete EDTF parser or an inclusivity policy.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use a complete date/time implementation and the applicable calendar policy for actual scheduling and interval interpretation.
