Description
Return PRESS-style and internally studentized residual terms.
Weights, hash collisions and regression diagnostics have estimator-specific meanings. A local count, signed contribution or residual scaling can be calculated from supplied inputs without establishing sampling validity or model quality.
Return PRESS-style and internally studentized residual terms.
When to use this tool
Use Model Residual One Observation Leverage when checking the stated weight, hash or diagnostic contribution.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter residual, leverage, residualSd. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read pressResidual, internallyStudentized. Use the output convention below.
Return PRESS-style and internally studentized residual terms. Require leverage in [0,1) and residualSd > 0; pressResidual = residual/(1-leverage), internallyStudentized = residual/(residualSd*sqrt(1-leverage)).1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| residual | Signed difference in the direction defined above, using the same units as its compared quantities. | Required. Finite number. |
| leverage | Supplied diagonal hat value, at least zero and strictly below one. | Required. Finite number; minimum 0; strictly below 1. |
| residualSd | Positive fitted residual standard deviation. | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| pressResidual | residual/(1-leverage). | Required. Finite number. |
| internallyStudentized | residual/(residualSd*sqrt(1-leverage)). | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- The regression diagnostics are supplied; no model is fitted or outlier threshold selected.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
