Description
Return the integral term needed for a supplied bumpless output balance.
Controller calculations combine state, gain, error and reset conventions. A one-step update or output-balance target describes one part of a controller and does not implement, tune or establish the stability of a complete plant-control loop.
Return the integral term needed for a supplied bumpless output balance.
When to use this tool
Use Controller Bumpless Transfer Integral Offset when checking one explicit controller-state or term update.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter currentOutput, proportional, derivative, feedforward. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read requiredIntegral. Use the output convention below.
Return the integral term needed for a supplied bumpless output balance. requiredIntegral = currentOutput-proportional-derivative-feedforward.1

} Limitations and assumptions
- The result is an algebraic target, not a controller mutation or guarantee of a safe transition.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
