Description

Map a source turn coordinate into translated-turn coordinates.

Cultural source records can encode exact tokens, voices, time offsets and context budgets. Their literal structure can be summarized without determining authorship, cultural meaning, source authority or adequacy of interpretation.

Map a source turn coordinate into translated-turn coordinates.

When to use this tool

Use Translated Turn Offset when checking a supplied source-context or annotation convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter sourceTurn, sourceAnchor, translatedAnchor, suppliedAdditionalOffset. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read translatedTurn. Use the output convention below.

Map a source turn coordinate into translated-turn coordinates. translatedTurn = sourceTurn-sourceAnchor+translatedAnchor+suppliedAdditionalOffset.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • This assumes the supplied affine alignment; no translation, turn correspondence or transcript accuracy is inferred.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Review the actual sources and relevant participant or community context for substantive interpretation and attribution.
