WPA Passphrase Length/Charset Check
Check legacy WPA printable-ASCII8–63 passphrase versus explicitly allowed64-hex raw PSK form; no password strength, WPA3 compatibility or authentication.
Description
WPA input forms can distinguish a printable passphrase from a raw hexadecimal key.
WPA input forms can distinguish a printable passphrase from a raw hexadecimal key.1
Format acceptance does not measure password strength or establish network compatibility. Use WPA Passphrase Length/Charset Check to evaluate the supplied inputs under the specific model below.
When to use WPA Passphrase Length/Charset Check
Use WPA Passphrase Length/Charset Check to evaluate the supplied inputs under the specific model below. Choose the intended encoding, alphabet or check and keep the exact character, key and measurement conventions described below.
How to use WPA Passphrase Length/Charset Check and understand its results
- Choose the intended encoding, alphabet or check and keep the exact character, key and measurement conventions described below.
- Enter Passphrase, Allow raw64 hex psk using the field table and validation rules below, then run the tool.
- Read Printable ascii passphrase valid, Raw hex psk valid, Accepted input form and interpret units, signs, ordering and placeholders as explained below.
- If the tool reports an input error, correct that field and rerun. A successful false result, empty match list or unknown-evidence placeholder has the specific meaning described here; check the limitations before applying the result.
| Input field | Meaning | Value type | Requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| passphrase | Passphrase | string | Required; constraints below |
| allowRaw64HexPsk | Allow raw64 hex psk | boolean | Required; constraints below |
Enter a string of at most 128 UTF-16 code units and an allow-raw-PSK boolean. A passphrase is accepted only at 8 to 63 printable ASCII characters, including spaces. A raw PSK is exactly 64 hexadecimal characters and is accepted only when the flag permits it. Unsupported content returns false and input form invalid, while malformed tool input is an error. This checks formatting, not password strength or network compatibility.
accepted = printableASCII and length8..63, or (allowRawPsk and exactly64Hex) Field order, units and branch conditions follow the implementation explanation above.
| Output field | Meaning | Value type |
|---|---|---|
| printableAsciiPassphraseValid | Printable ascii passphrase valid | boolean |
| rawHexPskValid | Raw hex psk valid | boolean |
| acceptedInputForm | Accepted input form | string |

} Limitations and assumptions
Format acceptance does not measure password strength or establish network compatibility. Apply the exact scope and assumptions described above.
All listed fields require explicit values. Unexpected fields, incorrect types, nonfinite numbers and sparse arrays fail validation. Domain-specific bounds, alignments and supported tokens are stated above; extremely large inputs or outputs can also be rejected. These errors differ from successful results such as false, no matches or unknown evidence.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use Recovery Code Group Format Check for a related task: Recovery-code formatting depends on an explicit alphabet, separator and group lengths.
Use API Key Prefix Separability Check for a related task: Prefix-based dispatch becomes ambiguous when one registered prefix begins with another.
