Coolant State Density Factor Tool

Compare supplied state densities under explicit mass conservation; no material-property lookup.

Description

Convert volume between two supplied densities while conserving mass.

Cryogenic measurements and budgets depend on the fluid state, absolute temperatures and pressure reference, as well as compatible units. Local mass, heat or ideal-gas terms describe a supplied model without determining actual material properties or safe equipment operation.

Convert volume between two supplied densities while conserving mass.

When to use this tool

Use Coolant State Density Factor when checking a supplied cryogenic measurement, reference-state conversion or engineering budget.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter firstDensity, secondDensity, firstVolume. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read densityRatio, conservedMass, equivalentSecondVolume. Use the output convention below.

Convert volume between two supplied densities while conserving mass. Require positive densities and firstVolume >= 0; densityRatio = firstDensity/secondDensity, mass = firstDensity*volume, second volume = volume*ratio.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Use compatible mass/volume units and verified state-specific densities; no property or phase lookup occurs.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use verified state-specific properties and a complete qualified engineering assessment for practical cryogenic design, filling and handling.
