Pair Production Energy Mass Factor Tool

Pair rest-energy equivalent only, with caller-supplied constants and units.

Loading tool…

Description

Return the rest-energy term for two equal-mass particles.

Spectral and radiation quantities depend on their denominator coordinates, reference levels and physical definitions. A density per wavelength changes by a Jacobian when expressed per frequency, and photon counts, radiant energy, exposure and absorbed dose remain different quantities.

Return the rest-energy term for two equal-mass particles.

When to use this tool

Use Pair Production Energy Mass Factor when checking the stated spectral, photon, attenuation or radiometric conversion.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter singleParticleMass, speedOfLight, suppliedEnergyPerBase. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read pairRestEnergy, convertedEnergy. Use the output convention below.

Return the rest-energy term for two equal-mass particles. Require mass >= 0 and positive light speed/unit factor; pairRestEnergy = 2*m*c², convertedEnergy multiplies by suppliedEnergyPerBase.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input

pairRestEnergyRest energy of two equal-mass particles; joules with kg and m/s, not a full process threshold.Required. Finite number.
convertedEnergyConverted EnergyRequired. Finite number.

Limitations and assumptions

  • SI mass/speed give joules; this is a rest-energy minimum, not a complete interaction threshold including recoil or momentum constraints.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use a complete spectrum, measurement calibration and appropriate physical interaction model for integration, uncertainty or exposure interpretation.
