Description
Compare sample and full-size supplied unit prices.
Consumer records distinguish events, choices, prices, quantities and supplied survey scales. A unit-price comparison requires comparable goods and quantity units, while a reversed score retains the original scale bounds. An observed time gap or selected option does not establish motivation, causation, consent or the fairness of a commercial practice.
Compare sample and full-size supplied unit prices.
When to use this tool
Use Sample To Full Size Price Ratio when you already have samplePrice, sampleQuantity, fullPrice, fullQuantity and need to compare sample and full-size supplied unit prices.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter samplePrice, sampleQuantity, fullPrice, fullQuantity. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read sampleUnitPrice, fullUnitPrice, unitPriceRatio. Use the output convention below.
Require samplePrice>=0 and sample quantity/full price/full quantity positive finite; return both price/quantity values and sampleUnit/fullUnit ratio.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| samplePrice | Sample Price | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| sampleQuantity | Sample Quantity | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| fullPrice | Full Price | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| fullQuantity | Full Quantity | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| sampleUnitPrice | Sample Unit Price | Required. Finite number. |
| fullUnitPrice | Full Unit Price | Required. Finite number. |
| unitPriceRatio | Sample unit price/full-size unit price; quantity units and product basis must be comparable. | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Quantity and currency bases must agree. No product equivalence, applicable price, tax, quality or suitable purchase is established; extreme intermediate unit prices can underflow or overflow.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Review the original transaction, interface, survey and event records for a behavioral conclusion. Use the complete study design and applicable commercial terms when interpreting comparisons; local flags and ratios do not estimate demand or verify an actual customer experience.
