Description
Label a supplied voucher link and recorded source-verification flag.
Conservation observations depend on sampling effort, specimen provenance, spatial precision and the population being assessed. Survivors among assessed plants differ from survivors among all planted plants. Coordinate rounding or cell assignment changes a display location without guaranteeing protection, and a time-gap threshold does not establish independent observations.
Label a supplied voucher link and recorded source-verification flag.
When to use this tool
Use Species Observation Voucher Status when you already have observationId, voucherReference, verifiedBySource and need to label a supplied voucher link and recorded source-verification flag.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter observationId, voucherReference, verifiedBySource. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read label, linked. Inspect linked before interpreting the associated values.
Require observationId nonempty; linked uses voucherReference.trim() nonempty. verifiedBySource=true requires a link; display the original untrimmed reference or not linked.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| observationId | Observation Id | Required. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| voucherReference | Nonblank when verifiedBySource=true; the original spelling is preserved after the blankness check. | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| verifiedBySource | Verified By Source | Required. Boolean. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| label | Label | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| linked | Linked | Required. Boolean. |

"input": {
"observationId": "O17",
"voucherReference": "V42",
"verifiedBySource": true
},
"output": {
"label": "O17; voucher=V42; source verification=recorded",

} Limitations and assumptions
- No voucher, observation, identification or actual source verification is retrieved or authenticated.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Review original field records, specimens, survey design and location-access requirements. Use the complete ecological and spatial method for population or protection decisions; local rates, interval flags and source-qualified labels do not supply it.
