Description
Return instantaneous drift of one reaction-network species.
Computational biology distinguishes discrete counts, probabilistic weights, sequence indexes and logical rules. A supplied event or record flag can be summarized without simulating a stochastic process, validating a sequence annotation or establishing a biological mechanism.
Return instantaneous drift of one reaction-network species.
When to use this tool
Use Reaction Network One Species Drift when checking the stated count, sequence, Boolean-rule or support convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter stoichiometricChanges, propensities. Keep parallel arrays aligned. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read drift. Use the output convention below.
Return instantaneous drift of one reaction-network species. Require aligned stoichiometricChanges/nonnegative propensities; drift is their dot product.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| stoichiometricChanges | Stoichiometric Changes | Required. Array of safe integer; maximum items 256. |
| propensities | Propensities | Required. Array of finite number; maximum items 256. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |

| drift | Drift | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Propensities are events/time and changes are amount/event; no random event, full trajectory or equilibrium is computed.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use the complete sequence, identifier universe or stochastic/logical model for actual inference, sampling and uncertainty analysis.
