Description

Calculate a supplied accessible-seat designation share.

Community records describe contributions, volunteer time, grants, notices, language requests and meeting participation. Person-minutes differ from elapsed task time, assigned in-kind values require a valuation basis, and a nominal seat count need not be a whole-person allocation. Supplied participation or permission flags do not verify actual access, consent or eligibility.

Calculate a supplied accessible-seat designation share.

When to use this tool

Use Community Room Accessibility Seat Share when you already have designatedAccessibleSeats, totalSeats and need to calculate a supplied accessible-seat designation share.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter designatedAccessibleSeats, totalSeats. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read fraction, remainder. Use the output convention below.

Require totalSeats positive/finite and designated seats within total; return designated/total and total-designated.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Fractional values are accepted. Designation and nominal counts do not establish actual accessibility, layout, compliance or suitable seating.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Review the underlying meeting, funding, service and volunteer records with the applicable project rules. Use full budgets, schedules and participation evidence when evaluating delivery or fairness; local labels and arithmetic retain only the stated assumptions.
