Description
Calculate recognized in-kind value and its share of recognized contributions.
Community records describe contributions, volunteer time, grants, notices, language requests and meeting participation. Person-minutes differ from elapsed task time, assigned in-kind values require a valuation basis, and a nominal seat count need not be a whole-person allocation. Supplied participation or permission flags do not verify actual access, consent or eligibility.
Calculate recognized in-kind value and its share of recognized contributions.
When to use this tool
Use Community Grant Recognized In Kind Share when you already have cashContribution, inKindContribution, recognitionFraction and need to calculate recognized in-kind value and its share of recognized contributions.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter cashContribution, inKindContribution, recognitionFraction. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read recognizedInKind, recognizedTotal, inKindShare. Use the output convention below.
Require cash/in-kind values>=0 and recognition fraction in [0,1]; recognizedInKind=inKind*fraction, total=cash+recognizedInKind must be positive, share=recognizedInKind/total.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| cashContribution | Cash Contribution | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| inKindContribution | In Kind Contribution | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| recognitionFraction | Supplied fraction of in-kind value recognized in the cash-plus-recognized-in-kind denominator. | Required. Finite number; minimum 0; maximum 1. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| recognizedInKind | Recognized In Kind | Required. Finite number. |
| recognizedTotal | Recognized Total | Required. Finite number. |
| inKindShare | In Kind Share | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- No valuation, eligibility, recognition rule, disjoint contribution, grant agreement or actual match is verified.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Review the underlying meeting, funding, service and volunteer records with the applicable project rules. Use full budgets, schedules and participation evidence when evaluating delivery or fairness; local labels and arithmetic retain only the stated assumptions.
