Message Ack Delay Pair Tool

Compute acknowledgement delay for an ordered message/acknowledgement pair on the same clock.

Description

Require acknowledgedTimeSeconds no earlier than sentTimeSeconds and subtract for delaySeconds.

Communication records use speaker labels, acknowledgments, durations, turns, and presentation timing. A count or formatted label describes the supplied record; it does not establish understanding, agreement, or communication quality.

Require acknowledgedTimeSeconds no earlier than sentTimeSeconds and subtract for delaySeconds.

When to use this tool

Use Message Ack Delay Pair when you need one conversation or presentation-record component under an explicit counting convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter sentTimeSeconds, acknowledgedTimeSeconds. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read delaySeconds. Use the output convention below.

Limitations and assumptions

  • Use synchronized clocks; acknowledgment does not prove comprehension, receipt by the intended person, or adequacy of a response.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Review the complete interaction, transcript, and intended communication requirements separately.
